AGENDA 2030

At NC, we constantly try to work on the basis of the UN's 17 global goals for sustainable development. Through our sustainability work, we contribute to several goals, but we have chosen to focus a little extra on five of the 17 goals. Below is a description of the key goals where we have the greatest direct or indirect impact based on our operations.

3. GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
We are certified to the international standard ISO 45001, which promotes a good working environment and health. Through structured work environment management, we can address laws, risks and opportunities to prevent accidents. We will work for controlled working conditions throughout the value chain that contribute positively to social development in places where we operate and have our partners.

8. WORKING CONDITIONS AND ECONOMIC GROWTH
From our product range, most of our products are labeled with the Möbelfakta certification, which ensures that the product is of good quality with fair conditions for people and the environment. We choose pure materials and raw materials that are traceable and from responsible sources. We carry out quality tests on all our products, because through good quality we create a safe, durable and sustainable product.

12. SUSTAINABLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION
Design and construction is done for a long lifetime with an awareness of materials and resource management. Our goal is for products to be redesigned, reconditioned and reused for a more circular way of working. We are certified according to ISO 9001 and 14 001, where the starting point is continuous improvement, which is a prerequisite for sustainable development.

13. FIGHTING CLIMATE CHANGE
Our vision is to produce furniture with minimal environmental impact throughout the value chain. The production is mainly done through FSC-certified wood material, water-based varnishes, certified textiles and low VOC emissions in the form of glues. Our products have reduced their climate impact thanks to the choice of materials and the possibility of recycling. We are also part of the Kinnarps logistics system, where we use blankets instead of disposable boxes to protect the products during transportation. This way of packing our furniture allows us to fit 50% more furniture per shipment. In this way, we increase efficiency and reduce the number of transports and ultimately the climate impact.

15. ECOSYSTEMS AND BIODIVERSITY
At NC, wood is our most valuable raw material and respect for nature has always been a matter of course for us. To protect the forest's resources, we have chosen to work primarily with FSC-certified wood. By choosing FSC-labeled, the wood raw material is from sustainable forestry, when forests are managed with social and environmental consideration. This leads to a reduced risk of deforestation, which strengthens the protection of biodiversity.
